AMBULANCE | Sunday 20th August | 17:00hrs

Ambulance are a predominantly electronic musical outfit from Dublin with an emphasis on live midi manipulation. Dunk was introduced to Trev by a mutual friend who insisted on their alliance due to their interest in programmed music. As Trev had working sequencing software, Dunk brought his first synth up to Trev's dining room in late 1997 where it has remained ever since. With the aid of two four-track tape mixers and a couple of synths they discovered a love of mathematically based melody and prolonged looping rhythms.

Among many other releases on Irish labels Frontend Synthetics & The Fear, 2001 saw Ambulance's first release on Planet-Mu Records, a 7" including their restructuring of the BellX1 song "Snakes". In January 2002 Mike Paradinas asked Ambulance to record an album for his label. The work resulted in "The Curse of Vale do Lobo" which contained detailed textures, complex melodic structures and an overall production that disregarded both typical digital electronica and classic analogue techno leaving the listener faced with a journey across unchartered music with no obvious reference points. The album received rave reviews including The Wire, Future Music and Warp-Mart.

This will be their first live show in over two years!
